Hi, I have 98 chysler sebring lxi and having problems with my car sound system. The stock car stereo died so I installed a new car stereo and the car sound system was working fine till a friend crashed my car.After the crash I installed a new car stereo (same brand as before and with same wiring just to be sure everything was same) but I am not getting any sound. I am sure the car stereo is hooked up properly cause I have done it before and it was working before. The car stereo powers up correctly, the ground is connected properly and the fuses are okay too. I thought the speakers blew but I doubt all four speakers have blown. I am guessing something is wrong with stock infinity amp. Could that be the problem? If yes, does anybody know how I can replace the amp. Also, Any other ideas on what could be wrong will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

check if the amp is getting warm/hot at all when your system is on if not it might not be plugged it or fried

i just purchase a 5.1 surround sound system, unfortunately my mac only has a hedphone jack so i can only use part of the system. I need to find some kind of solution like a external sound card so i can use my system. remember that it has to be mac compatible.

You might need a Griffin Firewave 5.1 adaptor as the plugs are 3x 3.5mm analog ends, but unfortunately the Firewave has been discontinued.
OR
You need a TOSLINK cable and a 3.5mm converter to make use of it. The device you are plugging into also has to be able to accept Optical Digital In.

Alright so i originally bought this for my ipod video but since i lost it its been out of use so now i get my ipod touch. I install the appropriate dock onto the stereo and it worked the first time but know it just stopped. When i put my ear to the speakers it has a very distorted buzz sound with hints of the song that’ss playing, coming out of it. Can someone offer me some insight on this?

It connects from the usb cord and not a headphone jack.

Hm, maybe the cable connecting to the iPod has a short circuit. It happens to my headphones alot. Simply twist or turn the wire, and you might get a more clear sound. If this doesn’t work, the cable is mangled. You might be able to get a new one, or otherwise, maybe the iPod doesn’t work with the system all together.

A few days ago, many newscasts talked about a Tsunami warning being issued after an 8.1-magnitude earthquake struck near Japan’s northern coast. The people living in areas where a tsunami could hit were being evacuated. It all sounded very normal to me.

On one of the newscasts, one reporter said something that I think just shows how badly she is aware of how things are in the world. She said “I’m glad they have a warning system now, not like last time”.

I think that’s an 0K comment from an average person. But how can a news-anchor not know that Japan is a first world country that has had these types of warning systems for decades.
There’s nothing new about Japan evacuating people whenever they suspect a tsunami might strike. Yeah, India and Indonesia were hit by the tsunami, but they are third world countries without systems like the ones Japan has had for so long.

Do you think she’s too dumb to be a news anchor?

Could you specify which anchor, which station, which country?

If the reporter couldn’t tell the difference between Japan and Indonesia – I agree with you that she’s on the air just for her looks rather than her brains.
