No, you need to power the speakers, they do make rca to wireless transmitters (http://www.meritline.com/wireless-rca-video-audio-transmitter-receiver-2w—p-70241.aspx?source=fghdac) but that won’t work unless your rear speakers have an integrated amp. You could buy a separate amp for the rears and then use some form of wireless transmitter but in the end it’d cost more than buying a new home theater system with wireless surround speakers.

Sorry, just being honest.

Try running speaker wire up through the ceiling or wall or run it along the wall the rears. Use paintable speaker wire and you could almost make the wires invisible: http://www.summitsource.com/product_info.php?ref=1&products_id=4765

Best of luck!

where can I rent a wireless sound system?

Question by mizz_cassie_cass: where can I rent a wireless sound system?
I am having my wedding in a garden with no electrical outlet. I need a sound system that is pretty loud to cover up some background noise. I have tried different party rental places and some music stores. No one seems to rent out anything like I need. I was going to get some musicians but they cost too much for a quartet and just one or two will not be loud enough.

Q&A: Is it possible to integrate wireless speakers with my current surround sound system?

Question by Bryce: Is it possible to integrate wireless speakers with my current surround sound system?
I have a Philips Home Theater Audio System w/ Upconverting DVD Player & iPod Dock, HTS3565D/37 and the speakers that it came with are wired. I was wondering if it is possible to integrate wireless speakers from other companies or even Phillips so I wouldn’t have to hide all the wires.

I’ve tried researching on the internet and cannot find anything out.

Question by peekaboo: Can anyone recommend wireless speakers for a 6.1 surround sound home system?

Best answer:

Answer by n_gined
It doesn’t seem that 6.1 has yet fully entered the wireless world in terms of buying a complete ready-to-go system – any 6.1 systems out there currently have only wireless on the fronts, and the rears are wired.
The Panasonic SC-HT545 system is 5.1 but is easily setup with SH-FX60 to have wireless rear speakers too, see source 1.
The Philips Cineos HTS9800W is a 6.1 wireless rear system but front speakers are wired, see source 2, 3 and 4.
