Anyone know about sound systems? (home theater)?

Question by lily: Anyone know about sound systems? (home theater)?
So I recently purchased a Samsung ht-c550 home theater on sale. Problem is, I can’t seem to get it to work with the xbox. The subwoofer and the back speakers only seem to work on dvd mode using the main box of the system. For anything else, only the two front side speakers work. The sub, two back speakers, and main front speaker, nothing comes out. Read some online reviews stating this is a common issue.

So the goal now is to figure out wtf is wrong and how to fix it, or to replace it. Suggestions on how to make it work or on better ones to get? Spent about 150 on it, would like something in the same price range and quality level if I could.

This is the product in question: http://www.samsung.com/us/video/home-theater/HT-C550/XAA

Q&A: What can I buy to turn a old home theater system into a wireless home theater system without give up sound?

Question by Phillip R: What can I buy to turn a old home theater system into a wireless home theater system without give up sound?
I just bought a new receiver about a year or two ago and it does not have wireless capability. I know there are things out on the market that can fix this, BUT I just don’t know which is the best for sound quality without giving up a fortune.
What about just trying to get the rear speaker wireless?

Answer by AVDADDY
No real solution for wireless all around. You would need wireless speakers and transmitters on 5 or 6 different channels. Wireless speakers are expensive because each one has to have a transmitter, receiver and amplifier for each channel. Even the best wireless speakers can’t come close in quality to many very modestly priced wired speakers. The other thing to consider is that you would be wasting the amplifier that is in your receiver

Can I build a home theater surround-sound systems with “unmatched” speakers?

Question by theasianotherguy: Can I build a home theater surround-sound systems with “unmatched” speakers?
I purchased a 5.1 Mirage Nanosat system that does not come with a dedicated center-channel speaker, just 5 identical sattelites; my brother-in-law has one, a B&W, that he says I can use. I’m a little ignorant about this and still learning, can I use the B&W and turn this into a 6.1 and have it sound, NORMAL? Will the speaker combination be compatible? Thanks for any advice you can provide!!!
