Why would my Surround speakers for my tv only have 1 output that works?

Question by : Why would my Surround speakers for my tv only have 1 output that works?
I have this surround sound and out of all the speaker inputs in back, only 1 works. I checked all my speakers. The only other one that works is where the sub goes. Any ideas?

Question by freaky fruit: i have a RCA surround sound system and a VIZIO 32″ T.V. What cords do i need to connect my surround sound?
i am looking for the cords(s) that runs from the receiver to the television. i found the owners manual and it has a coaxial digital wire labeled. Is that it? If so is it a wire with 4 total plug ins (2 on each side) and are color coded?

Your RCA surround sound system will have either an HDMI or component cable output. HDMI cable carries the video and audio, while the component only video and you will need am optical audio cable for the audio. Some home theater in a box are not flexible for other connection to the system. If you have an optical audio input then you are in shape. Your tv should have an optical audio output. Check the owners manual of your rca surround sound for the proper connection. Hope this will help you out.

How to make a cheap surround sound system with headphones?

Question by : How to make a cheap surround sound system with headphones?
I want to make a surround sound system for my room how do I make this with headphones?

Best answer:

Answer by PoohBearPenguin
Headphone speakers aren’t nearly powerful enough to be used as a normal speaker.

They do make headphones which can do surround sound, but they’re still just headphones, and start at $ 150 or so.

Otherwise, if you want a surround sound system for your room, you’re going to have to buy one one of the cheap kits from Walmart or something. Be sure you get a system that has additional optical audio inputs, otherwise you won’t be able to connect additional things to it, like your game console.

How to make surround sound wireless?

Right now everything I have is controlled from my iPad remote app but I cant firgure out how to hook my surround system to it. Can you buy wireless adapters for it. If there is another remote or something I will buy it I just dont want to get a new system but this one is just fine.

No, you need to power the speakers, they do make rca to wireless transmitters (http://www.meritline.com/wireless-rca-video-audio-transmitter-receiver-2w—p-70241.aspx?source=fghdac) but that won’t work unless your rear speakers have an integrated amp. You could buy a separate amp for the rears and then use some form of wireless transmitter but in the end it’d cost more than buying a new home theater system with wireless surround speakers.

Sorry, just being honest.

Try running speaker wire up through the ceiling or wall or run it along the wall the rears. Use paintable speaker wire and you could almost make the wires invisible: http://www.summitsource.com/product_info.php?ref=1&products_id=4765

Best of luck!

How do I hook up my Sony Bravia surround sound system to my Blu Ray player?

Question by I need answers: How do I hook up my Sony Bravia surround sound system to my Blu Ray player?
I have a Sony wireless Bravia speaker system with 5 disk DVD player.

I’m having trouble connecting my Blu Ray player to it.

It’s a DAV-HDX 589WF Bravia.

I even tried connecting HDMI to my TV and optical cable to the DVD.

I either have picture or sound not both.

Any idea how to fix this?

“I even tried connecting HDMI to my TV and optical cable to the DVD.”

That is exactly the way you want to connect it, because your receiver doesn’t have any video inputs, only audio inputs.

The trick is that you have to set the TV’s input to where the Blu-ray player is plugged in (HDMI 2?), so that you get the video. Then you set the receiver input source to play the optical audio from the Blu-ray player (it might be called auxiliary or external, optical 1).

You may also need to set the Blu-ray player to output audio from the optical port. Perhaps your player disables optical audio output when an HDMI cable is plugged into it, or else the port is disabled by default and needs to be enabled (set optical audio output to on).

will the new ps3 surround sound bar work for regular tv?

Question by : will the new ps3 surround sound bar work for regular tv?
Im not very electronic saavy.. i know the surround projection will work for ps3 games and blu rays, but what if im just watching regular tv, will i be able to hear the surround projection if my ps3 isnt on?

Best answer:

Answer by confused_casper
The “surround sound” bar is truly not even surround sound, it’s just regular sound projected towards the viewer. Surround sound would not work period, true surround sound would “surround” you from a couple of angles in front and a couple behind. The only thing that might work with this is the dolby sound, although this isn’t a true 5.1 system.

Surround Sound- A multichannel audio system with speakers in front of and behind the listener to create a surrounding envelope of sound and to simulate directional audio sources.

It seems to me that the surround sound unit is faultey and i would urge you to contact the brand or take it back to the place you got it from and get it replaced if you can.

It also might just be old and needs replacing.

I want to buy the Sony BDV-E780w blu-ray and surround sound system and have found it’s far cheaper to buy it from an American website even after shipping costs.
