I have an idea for a birthday party what would require being able to play thematic music in an open outdoor field maybe 2/3 the size of a football field. What kind of stereo equipment would I need and about how much would this cost to rent? Can I even rent what I would need?

You might want to instead look into getting a DJ who will not only possibly have the speakers to properly be loud enough to play music on that size of field, but will also have the music portfolio to match. Keep in mind though, that the size of field you want to play the music on will probably be the upper limit of what most professional Djs will be able to handle. Any bigger of a field would require speakers like what professional rock stars use to liven up a foot ball field. You won’t find speakers like that for rental purposes, unless you have a lot of money for collateral.

Most Djs have speakers that are ample in size for large gymnasiums, or equivalent size rooms. So ask your self how large is the field, compared to a large gymnasium. A DJ would be much cheaper I’m sure then renting and manhandling heavy audio equipment.

Separate mostly.

I can buy the equipment that has the features and specifications I need, plus can purchase/upgrade them as my budget allows and technology changes, purchased used equipment, plus even build some components myself.

I would buy an all-in-one system for the convenience or compactness, or portability.

I want a stereo sound system for my bedroom and for a good price that has these features:
ipod dock, cd player, am/fm radio and a alarm clock feature preferably.
does anyone know any good stereo systems like this? i also want good sound quality but honestly i know nothing at all about sound systems or anything so i just want something that will play music and will continue to sound good after very excessive use. all suggestions are helpful!

The link below is a picture of what you described. The sound quality is what you are looking for in a bedroom with a small physical footprint. This unit has a down firing subwoofer, which I am not a big fan, but the unit can be elevated off a flat surface then the sound quality will be even richer. It is a stellar unit, very respectable pedigree.

Check your local area and see if there are any electronic repair schools or colleges around. Sometimes they like that stuff for the students to tinker on and try to fix> I donated a used car that was dead to a school for mechanics to fix up and re-sell and I got a big write off on taxes. I also know that there is a votech for electronics repair and they will take used stuff thats donated for parts and to try to fix it for credits… thats in Minnesota though

What i am trying to say is that if i can put an amplifier and two 10 inch SUBWOOFERS with a truck’s original (stock) stereo. If it’s possible, can you please tell me how to do it.

You can but if you want a good sound then you may have to fork out for an aftermarket stereo and an equalizer. You will have to follow the instructions with your equipment as you need diagrams to help you hook everything up.

Well that would depend on the stereo system you have and how it would best be hooked up, but i will give you some ideas.

In most cases, these types of systems are connected with the speakers to the receiver or amplifier’s from the speaker outputs. The components TV, DVD Player, and Cable box are hooked up audio and video to the receiver. This allows you to select the source you want to watch, and the audio comes out of the system. This requires a receiver with audio and video switching, and preferably if you have some of the newer gear (blu ray, and hd tv’) it will have HDMI switching. This will send both audio and video digitally to the receiver giving you the best audio and video output signal.

If you don’t have a newer higher quality receiver with HDMI inputs and outputs, or even Component video switching, then you best bet is to run all your video components directly to your TV (video outputs) and the audio outputs to the receiver.

The issue with this is you will have to select the video source on your tv and the audio signal on your receiver. This can be very inconvenient and confusing to use. This would be fine if you know how to program remotes as its really inconvenient if you aren’t going to use a universal remote.

Universal remotes will allow you to setup macros which allow you to do multiple switching with the touch of one button. This is more a advanced option but with a properly programmed remote will make the system much easier to use.

Weight isn’t all too much an issue, but power consumption is. I’ll be using a standard car battery probably =P

They have marine systems too so water isnt an issue. They also have sound system batteries.

Im gonna try to get a no suspension mtn bike/hybrid bike & put a rear rack. My panniers will be boxes with small marine woofers powered by a small marine amp or a big marine deck. Imma use a small battery too. If possible ill have an amp & the deck powering subs & a component system.
