Problem with Samsung Surround Sound w/ DVD system?

Question by : Problem with Samsung Surround Sound w/ DVD system?
My Samsung Surround System (with DVD player) has a problem.
When I switch it on, it works perfectly for like 5 minutes, then the rear speakers disconnect, and on the DVD player the words ‘ REAR CHK’ blink. This is happening all the time. It hasn’t been from forever, just I stopped using it for a while because it was happening, because i didn’t really need it, but I want to start using it again. Also, only the audio is plugged to the TV, I don’t watch DVDs on it, so the video isn’t plugged in, and maybe that’s why I can’t ever see the menu when I press the menu button on the remote, but I’m not sure. I’ve had the system for about 3-4 years now, and this ha been happening for I think the last 1 & a 1/2 year
How do I stop the rear speakers from disconnecting after 5 minutes?

Best answer:

Answer by Phillip
just a guess,
a lot of amplifiers have thermal overloads that will kick out if their is too much energy being drawn. my suggestion is to check all your connections, make sure they are tight and with no corrosion. check the wires to make sure the cat hasn’t been chewing on them. if the speakers/speaker is drawing too much power that can kick it out as well. lots of different things could be happening including the possibility the the rear channel is simply beginning to fail. good luck!

my samsung dvd/surround sound system will not produce sound for english dialogue?

Question by agentbenere: my samsung dvd/surround sound system will not produce sound for english dialogue?
every time i put in a dvd, for some parts of the movie the english dialogue is not producing sound. it produces it for french and spanish dialogue, and the background noise is still produced. does anybody know what is wrong with it and how to fix it?
for the most part it works, but usually near the beginning or the end of the dvd is when it stops working

Best answer:

Answer by Texperson
Check the set up menu on the dvd when it first starts. There’s a menu on all dvd’s where it says “audio setup”. Click on that and be sure English 5.1 is selected.

Response: Maybe your laser light inside the dvd player is getting old and not tracking properly?

With two channels and patented algorithms, the Geneva Sound System digitally adapts the left and right signals for a balanced 120-degree sound stage. A 100-watt high fidelity digital amplifier powers the system’s built-in stereo tweeters, woofers and 8-inch subwoofers, which together deliver the sound performance found in larger systems. Everything you play will be enjoyed with a full range of frequencies – from deep, rich bass to crystal clear highs, without dropping a single note in between. An LED display on the front of the cabinet displays what’s playing. The iPod dock connectors include iPod Video, Nano, Photo and Mini. Rubber feet help protect the adjacent surface; a floor stand is available, sold separately.

Surround sound speakers for a samsung blu ray 3600 player?

samsung blu ray surround sound system
by ktpupp

Question by Fiestyone: Surround sound speakers for a samsung blu ray 3600 player?
Brought the samsung 3600 blu ray player and thought I would be able to use it with my current samsung dvd home theatre speakers by just simply swapping the dvd player with the blu ray player, but the speakers jacks are totally different. Is my only option to return the player and get the whole blu ray surround system?? Thanks!

Best answer:

Answer by Texperson
Does your old samsung system have either a digital coax input or an optical input on the back of the dvd player/receiver? You can leave the speakers attached to the old dvd player if it’s receiver has either one of those inputs. Then, you can run one of those types of cable out of the blu ray into the receiver, select bitstream as the blu ray’s audio output and it will work.

If it doesn’t have either of those type of inputs, then you would need a new one to get surround out of the blu ray.

How do i get my Samsung surround sound system to come on with my Samsung led tv?

Question by Snoozylacetti: How do i get my Samsung surround sound system to come on with my Samsung led tv?
I have a Samsung LED B8000 40″ tv (which i LOVE!) and connected through hd leads and optical cable to a Samsung surround sound system (HTz225r) which all works fine. My only question is, how do i get them to all come on together without having to manually switch on the surround sound (with the control).

When i switch the TV off, it auto switches the surround sound off so surely the reverse can happen when you switch on?!

Answer by Lance
You need to hook everything up using HDMI cables…Your receiver may not have the feature you are asking for..try turning on the dvd player first and see if that turns everything else on…also just because you see smoke does not mean there is fire…(the Charvak)
