Q&A: can you use a factory stereo for a custom sound system?

Question by : can you use a factory stereo for a custom sound system?
What i am trying to say is that if i can put an amplifier and two 10 inch SUBWOOFERS with a truck’s original (stock) stereo. If it’s possible, can you please tell me how to do it.

You can but if you want a good sound then you may have to fork out for an aftermarket stereo and an equalizer. You will have to follow the instructions with your equipment as you need diagrams to help you hook everything up.

    you can buy a high to low audio converter($ 15-30) at your local car audio shop to get an rca signal. and it will work fine. benefits of buying an aftermarket radio are, you will have more control over your system, and better sound quality. now a high-low for subs does not sound bad generally they provide more voltage to the amp then a aftermarket stereo would but you do lose some sound quality in the conversion, that you probably wont even notice in lower sub frequencies.
