Whole House Surround Sound System?

Question by David S: Whole House Surround Sound System?
My family just bought a new home, that has speakers in every room. All the wires are hooked up in one room, all are labeled and everything. But, the receiver has water damage or something is wrong with it, but anyways it doesn’t work. The receiver is made by Russsound, but I don’t know much about these speakers, or what it is that I need to buy to make this work. All the speakers are all hooked up in all the rooms, and all the wires are just dangling in this room. Now what???
Or just a website that will help me with answers…
The receiver is a Russound SS-6.2

More than likely the room only have a stereo set up. Depending on how many rooms you have speakers in, is the amount of power amplifier you will need to power each room. Those multi room amplifiers are not cheap and you also need a receiver to provided the source of music for each room. Most receiver only has one set up to power another room, usually it is label as zone on the receiver. This type of set up is usually done by an expert installer during the building of a home. You might try going online and see if any home theater installer can help you out. Hope this will help you out.

Yes, it is possible. This all depends on your own budget. The only source for surround sound is with a DVD, Blue Ray disc, some CD’s encode with Dolby surround or tv programs encoded with Dolby surround. Also you need a power amplifier for each room and speaker set up. Even in the most expensive home set up you will not find surround sound in every room. You are better off buying a separate receiver and speakers for each room you want to have a surround sound.
