Look into CEDIA – an organization that holds classes and certifies home theater installers.

You might also look into ISF to become a calibrationist.

Lucas arts also has training to become a THX certified installer.

THX Also offers a certification program. I think if you just go to the THX Website, they will have a link to it.

I’ve been looking into this as a career as well. (Installing home theaters/Home theater design) and to get a job installing any kind of electronic equipment, you need to have an EST Certificate (Electronic Systems Technician) Its hard to find courses in your area, but if you email the people at these websites, they will give you all the info you need. You can take courses and exams online, But talk to them first, just so you dont sign up for the wrong course or exam.
