Can you connect a 6-channel surround sound system to a laptop?

Is there any way to connect 3 stereo-mini connectors for 6-channel speaker system, to my laptop. I normally use just the green cable to connect it, but I want to hook up my surround sound. So I have a yellow and black cable as well. And I was wondering if there was any external device that could connect all of them to my audio port.

No. Surround sound are mostly in 5.1 and some blu ray disc movies have a 7.1 surround sound. They are coded in either Dolby Digital or DTS. To be able to play the surround sound material you need a decoder, and they are usually found in a receiver, home theater in a box or a preamp. I have not seen any Lop Top computer with either a Dolby or DTS logo. Hope this will help you out.

I’m having a party in ten day for my 21st birthday and everything is already arranged except the DJ can’t make it. It will be held outside in a backyard and I was planning on just hooking up my laptop and playing my songs (cheaper). I would like to know where in the Miami area I can rent speakers with output connections and if someone can tell be if connecting them to laptop is feasible. I have ten days to put this together. Great advice will be appreciated. Thanks

Hooking your laptop up to a big system like this isn’t going to work unless you buy many different cables and connectors to do it. Your laptop will also need a very good sound card to project this type of sound and all of this stuff may cost up to 300 bucks.

I’ve had this laptop for nearly a year now and even at full volume, it is still relatively quite. Are there any pieces of software you can download to boost the volume of the laptop?

I don´t think so!
But check so u don’t have 2 or moore sound control systems on ur laptop!
Ive seen this before and they had only some sound on the first system and then they cod only adjust from that in windows ( hard to explain) instead from 0 to 100 they cod only use 0 to 60 because the first stood in 60!
