Bogen is usually a good brand that isn’t overpriced. It still won’t be cheap to cover the outfield of a baseball field. The link below will help you get started. You may also check with local sound dealers to see what they may have.
The Crown site below is a lot of help. It has a calculator to determine how much power you will need to cover a given area. Crown is also a very good brand. I just installed several Crown monitor amps in a radio station studio.

I am looking for any input regarding outdoor speakers and cd/mp3 players. My goal is to have a PA system and be able to listen to music.

First, you have to get permission from the owner(s) of the field. Or get a Walkman, with earphones, so you won’t disturb the people who want to watch the games.
