Portable Sound System With Cd Player

Anyone know what kind of system would work best to plug an ipod into that will produce enough sound for 80?

Question by seiyalights: Anyone know what kind of system would work best to plug an ipod into that will produce enough sound for 80?
Our wedding is a little less then 3 weeks away. We are going to use our own ipod at the wedding, but have looked into many sound systems that let you plug your ipod in directly and most of those are around 10-15w. I need something a little stronger that will fill a room and satisfy 80 people.

Any suggestions? Any ideas on if I should just get a receiver and plug in speakers, some how making it to where my ipod can plug into the receiver? Forgive me, I know little on this subject, so any and all help will be welcomed!

Our ceremony is outside – and we’d like to be able to play our songs through a CD player (just for the ceremony part). I can burn a CD with the songs we want to use, but am having a hard time finding something that runs on batteries. Am I going to have to ask around for two different systems? Maybe something with batteries for the ceremony, and then something that plugs in for the reception? Or can I find a portable system with more then 15w speakers that runs on batteries? I’ve been asking family members and friends, and so far no one has anything we can borrow.

I’m not exactmy sure what price range you’re looking for, so instead I’ll link you to some cables and adapters that may help make your current system iPod-compatible.

Look for a loud, hi-quality system that has this kind of input on the back:

(The ones on the left in this picture. And there doesn’t need to be more than one set, but look for one white and one red beside each other.)
Then buy something like this:

I need help making a portable sound system. Help me please, it needs to be functional by Wednesday 6th April.?

Question by : I need help making a portable sound system. Help me please, it needs to be functional by Wednesday 6th April.?
I currently have a 750w amp and 2 600w speakers. I have access to a cheap battery which is 760a. Essentially what outage do I need to power the speakers and amp for several hours. I will probably just use some kind of cd player or something, but if there is enough power, decks and a mixer are possible too.

How much power do I need? Is it possible with this battery, or do I need some more, or would it be better to just have a generator.

I’m not very technically minded but will be by the time it’s finished, if I need to give more info on the speakers and amp let me know.

Once again, just to highlight that this needs to be portable, either on a trolley attached to a bike or even a wheelie bin. Something similar to the Rinky Dink Sound System http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVRywQRM2H4 would be amaxing but that is not possible in such a short time. Thank you for your time and help, best wishes Danny.x

Your not going to power anything like that on a single battery that you can carry around.

You didn’t mention what type of venue or event you were needing to supply sound for.

Why not just use a good FM transmitter, like the one from Ccrane, which operates on internal AA batteries and can be connected to an MP3 player and then have several people bring radios and boomboxes and tune them to the FM station.

Hey.
I have and old CD player/radio and want to replace it with a modern sound system. This sound system need to have a CD player, and iPod dock (compatible with the new iPod nano), and a radio. This system should also be portable.
I know it’s a lot to ask but there must be one out there!
Please provide links to your answers if possible (so I can buy it)
Thanks in advance!

It really depends on what type of IPod dock you wan’t, there is actually a website I’ve searched for you that has many IPod dock reviews, I’ll add it to the source.
