Portable Outdoor Sound Systems

What’s the rumbling noise I hear from the outdoor unit when I turn the heat on?

Question by gsquared18: What’s the rumbling noise I hear from the outdoor unit when I turn the heat on?
The AC unit is about 15 years old and is an all in one unit outside which has the gas is feeding into it. Just recently, when the flames ignite, we can hear a low rumble/banging noise coming from the unit. If this helps as to what it sounds like, my wife though I had shoes in the dryer. The sound is a bit more muffled than that though.

I went outside and it sound like is air blowing over the flames kind of like you’d hear in one of those tubular portable propane heaters.

A) Could this just be dirty nozzles?

B) Would that possibly allow air to mix with the natural gas as it’s burning and make that sound? The instant the gas goes off (with the blower still running) the noise stops.

C) Is there any risk to continue running the system until someone comes out? It’s only in the teens this week.

At outdoor Car Shows, how can I power my sound system and t.v.s without leaving the engine on all the time?

Question by loudjag: At outdoor Car Shows, how can I power my sound system and t.v.s without leaving the engine on all the time?
Hey What’s up, I’m trying to figure out an easy way to run 1000-1500 watts of power to my car while I’m at out door car shows. I have quick release cables that drop down from my battery and plug into a Cascade Audio aps-90 power supply for while I’m at indoor car shows so that I can plug in to the power supply that is provided for me. I’m not sure if a quiet portable generator or linking batteries were safe options? I would appreciate any tips. Thanks in advance!

use a cluster of batteries hidden in clean taste of course
and then wire them up in series to produce 12 volts

you can make a barrier 4 corners using like 4/8 batts with covers or something etc

those faceless kids they cover up a battery nice

i have seen a bench made for a coyote to sit on for a road runner that covered a cluster

things like that will give you a couple of hours to show off

goodluck

I need advice on portable speakers and subwoofer for outdoor use?

Question by yezmax: I need advice on portable speakers and subwoofer for outdoor use?
OK, here’s the deal: I’m going camping in a field with friends for my birthday, but would like some sort of sound system for playing music from iPods/mobiles.
BUT i don’t want any of those crappy, tinny little speakers. I need this music to be loud, and with lots of bass. One of my friends has recommended getting a subwoofer as well.
Anyone got any advice?
Thanks “return of da big boy” but i was thinking something a little bigger.
