You need a powerful power amplifier to drive either a subwoofer or a speaker cabinet with a large diameter woofer, say 12 to 15 inches in width, or 18-24 inches if you can find and afford them. Cerwin Vega makes good three way speakers for example.

Before buying, make sure the speakers have the sound you want. You want tight sounding bass that faithfully reproduces the thud of a bass drum. You don’t want a speaker that just hits low notes but sounds like it’s trying to free itself from the speaker.

The amplifier is another point. You need at least 100 watts per speaker, not 100 watts divided four ways. But remember too, to increase the volume 3 decibels, you have to double the power, so plan on maybe buying a 300 watt amplifier, which would give you a lot of sound.

If you want, set up a ten-band graphic equalizer to tailor the sound. Set all the mid-range and high end sliders to zero, then move the 20 or 30 hertz slide control all the way up. Then do the same with the 20,000 or 15,000 hertz slide control. Tailor the mids and mid-highs as desired.
