Question by bassman: What are some good songs to test a Hi-Fi sound system?
I have a Hi-Fi sound system and I would like to test the quality of them with older music, any suggestions? (Ex. Mark Knopfler, Steely Dan)

Honestly, I usually tell people to use the kind of music they prefer listening to. After all, that’s the performance that’s really going to matter to you the most. I use the 5th Element Soundtrack in my testing because it has a huge variety of tones from deep deep base to crystal clear highs and nice vocals to boot.
For a pure comparison that’s style agnostic, you can buy CD’s with audio test tones.
