Question by Nissy: Full Car Sound System Setup Please Help!?
Hi this may be alot of text but im after alot of help and providing alot of detail.
I am installing 8x 12″ 1600 W subs into 2 separated ported boxes on either side of my boot, specs for these are as follows:
Frequency 35Hz-800Hz
Output Maximum 1600 Watts
Max Power 1600 Watts(Peak Power)
Sensitivity 88dB
Impedance 4 ohm
Magnet 2 x 40 oz
Voice Coil 2.5″ (4-Layer)
Also installing 1000w 6×9 on my Parcel shelf but have no idea the differences in the 8 way and 6 way? (Sounds like crap to me :S )
Replacing my 4″ speakers to 100w Peak speakers which are installed into the dash. And cutting holes in my door trim on all 4 doors to install 4x 6.5″ speakers of 300w again with 2/3 way i have no idea about yet? All speakers run off 4ohm
Now for the tricky part, I’m not sure what amps to use for it? I’m thinking of using 3x 4channel amps as i want more presentation to it. What would i need to power all this and the separates? Not interested in a mono-amp either as i said im after presentation.
I know it may be overkill but im obviously doing it for other purposes..
Please any advice, suggestions or criticism would be great thanks.
What are the pods in the panels/doors? Also as for cheap? I’m pretty much doing a show standard car i’ve done all the exterior and engine work and just doing the sound system..Why not cut and place speakers? wont the speakers cover up the work done?

I Believe the “8-way and 6-way”, are the different levels of frequencyy response!
I myself would buy a 4 OHM, 4 channel, Amp, and just have the speakers in the doors powered from there!
thewattagee for that amp, 150-200 Watts!
Hope this helps!!!
