Question by gregory: How compatible are mp3 CDs for sound systems at large events?
My supervisor wants me to create a CD mix for a marathon that they have yearly (I will not be there so they can’t use my ipod, which I used last time). I’m going to burn the CD with itunes but I don’t know whether to make an audio or mp3 CD. I’m not familiar w/ sound systems used at large events, but do they accept mp3 CDs?

Hi there,

it is purely dependent on the event organisers, can you ask your supervisor to find out for you? audio cd would obviously be ok as a safe option. i would imagine mp3 would be fine, but there would be no way to guarantee that.

Hey, guys. I have a 2003 Mercury Mountaineer with an “audiophile in-dash six CD sound system” stereo. I am going on a long trip and want to connect my iPod to the stereo system. How is it that I can go about doing this? I don’t want to buy one of those $ 300 factory made adaptors. Something under $ 50?

If you have a cassette player then you can buy an adapter. I have one, and it works quite well. Not the best sound quality, but it does the job. You can also do FM modulation, but that is a pretty poor method. You really just need to foot the bill for a direct connect.

i have a 1990 honda accord,and want to put a nice sound system on it.don”t know much about what is included in a complete car sound system.what do i need beside a cd player,speakers,and amps?if i can get them cheaper,can i just look up each individual piece on ebay and hook em up,or do i have to buy everything from the same manufacturer?is it better if i just go to best buy or something?

That is about the basics you will need, how loud or how clean you want the system to be, will rely on how deep that pocketbook is! Doing a little research goes a long way, check the link, hope this helps. Good Luck!
