Question by : PS3 Blu-ray surround sound to my dvd surround sound system?
At present I have a Panasonic Viera TV(Panasonic Viera TH-46PZ800A), a PS3(80GB) and a Panasonic surround sound system(Panasonic SC-PT865W).
I have set up the TV and the surround sound and I have the PS3 connected to the TV via HDMI, this all works fine, except I now want to connect my PS3 to my surround sound so I can play Blu-ray discs and have surround sound from my PS3 coming through the surround sound system.
I thought maybe connecting the PS3 to the surround sound system through a Digital Optical Audio cable might work, but I’m not sure.
So what i really want to know is, is this possible, if so what type of cable do I need… and what settings do I put the PS3′s audio output on.

Yes, you can. Review your Owner’s Manual
for the right Optical Linking Cable to use, and
check out the examples the Manufacturer
recommends for hookup, settings, and operation.
I hope this will work well 4 U!
