Best Tv Surround Sound System

Q&A: I need to know what the best cable (wire) is for a tv surround sound system (to connect from dvd to system).?

Question by limp noodle: I need to know what the best cable (wire) is for a tv surround sound system (to connect from dvd to system).?
My friend gave me an old Boston Acoustics surround sound set and I need one cable… that goes from the sub woofer to the dvd player (I assume)… On the sub woofer (where all the cables are plugged in) there is a spot that says “in DVD” and next to it “dolby digital”. sooo I need a cable that goes into that and into my DVD player? (I guess). I have a DVD recorder, but it has an “”optical” digital audio out (PCM/BITSTREAM)” (that is exactly what is says where it is the most logical (and only) place to put the cable.
soooo any specific hints as to where I go next would be great. I have the whole system set up, I just need that one cable.
I was searching online and I found “Digital Coaxial Audio Cables” but I am not positive that is exactly what I need.
The DVD recorder is a panasonic, and the Boston Acoustics is series 6000 (just in case).
Thanks!

Chances are that your Panasonic player also has a coaxial audio output. If so, connect it to your system using a single RCA cable of decent quality or better yet a standard 3 foot piece of CABLE TV coax cable with RCA connectors on each end.
If all else fails, you can still use the standard analogue RCA ports.
