Question by moosemanskate: Can I connent my 5.1 surround sound speakers through my laptop’s HDMI port?
I have a laptop with just one headphone socket, so I can’t play 5.1 surround sounds speakers because I gather you need 3 jacks for that.
I do have a HDMI port on my laptop though, so is it possible to buy an adaptor or something that will let me connect 5.1 surround speakers that require 3 audio jacks into the HDMI port?

Yes you can
your amp would be able to encode 5.1
then laptop to amp will be 5.1, and that way you get 5.1 through your speakers.
Try play with dts media, the best.
You have to setup your pc in a way that hdmi digital out not just boring stereo.
