What would be a good semi small sound system for a Honda Fit car?

Question by BulletForMyValentine: What would be a good semi small sound system for a Honda Fit car?
I’m going to get a Honda Fit. Preferrably the sport model. I want to up the sound system that comes stock but I don’t want anything to over the top that takes over a huge amount of space in the car either. Any good ideas?

You can but if you want a good sound then you may have to fork out for an aftermarket stereo and an equalizer. You will have to follow the instructions with your equipment as you need diagrams to help you hook everything up.

BAW’s Home Office
office sound systems

This home office of mine has been evolving for about six years, with a list of equipment that currently includes:

• 3 printers (HP LaserJet, HP portable inkjet & Dymo label)
• 2 LaCie backup drives (USB & Firewire)
• LightScribe CD/DVD Burner/Player
• 2 scanners (ScanSnap & Epson)
• tape deck, turntable & sound system (connected into the computer)
• EyeTV digital television tuner
• 2 Belkin 7-port USB hubs
• 20" Dell monitor
• MacBook
• Plantronics USB headset for dictation/Skype
• Panasonic wireless phone
• chargers for cell phone, Bluetooth headset & Palm

My challenge has been how to arrange so much essential gear in a small space without all of it getting in my way, both physically and aesthetically.

At last count there are 21 electrical connections, along with about 18 other kinds of cables (USB, Firewire, coaxial, speakers, phone & chargers) so I spent a lot of time figuring out how to hid all those cords. (Click on the other photos in my "Office Makeover" set to see how I hid the cables.)

Q&A: How do I connect a DIRECTV HD-HVR to my Yamaha Surround Sound System?

Question by Austin P: How do I connect a DIRECTV HD-HVR to my Yamaha Surround Sound System?
I just bought a Yamaha HTR-6130 Receiver with 5.1 speakers. So, this is how I connected it:

HD-DVR HDMI cable connected directly to the receiver.
Another HDMI Cable connects the “Receiver Out” to the “TV-In”.

The problem is BOTH the audio and video are coming out of the television. Obviously I just want the video on the television and the audio through the surround sound. I’ve tweaked with the controls on the HD-DVR box, the television, and the receiver but can’t figure out.

Please help! :)
I thought an HDMI cable did both A/V therefre an “optical cord” or “RCA Cables” were not needed. I am I wayyyy off base in my thinking? I am brand new to this stuff.

Answer by Paul in San Diego
There should be a function in the Audio Setup menu on the TV for shutting down the speakers. Play around with it. Or, use component video from the receiver to the TV. They don’t have audio on them.

What is the Ohms of the subwoofer speaker for the sound system logitech z-5400?

Question by : What is the Ohms of the subwoofer speaker for the sound system logitech z-5400?
My sub speaker has blown for my logitech z-5400 sound system, I need to know what ohms the speaker is so i can replace it with a new one. does anyone know what it is?

Best answer:

Answer by Grumpy Mac
You cant.

Computer speakers tend to be designed with impedance and assumptions so they only work together and with the internal power supply. You cannot simply take a generic subwoofer and add it in without quickly damaging things.

If you buy it as a set – it only works as a set. When one part breaks it’s a throw-away.

Contact Logitech and perhaps they will sell you the correct replacement sub.
